Asia is a large continent that contains many countries. However,
when it comes to engaging with the Asian Countries, does this lead to harmony or
disarray?
These countries are full of industries that are essential to
Australia, especially when it comes to trading with Asia coming to and from
Australia. There are many reasons why countries like China are ideal to trade
with. Some reasons being that they can produce items that are crafted for
everyday use at a mass production scale; however it is not the main reason as
to why Australia deals closely with China. The main reason is that it is easier
to deal with a country that is situated in the same time zone as Australia.
Looking at the picture below it shows how the western side
of Australia is in the same time zone as China, it also shows how the rest of
Australia is either one hour behind, if situated in the centre of Australia, or
two hours behind if you are situated on the eastern side of Australia.

Australia also engages with Asia in the fight against
whaling and overfishing. Japan come into the waters near Australia and fish
whales. This is a negative engagement with Asia. This is mostly because
Australia is looks after the whales while Japan hunts them. Organisations such
as Green Peace are in a constant battle with the Japanese.
Even though the Japanese continue their whaling, doesn’t
mean that we can’t still deal with other countries found in the Asian
Continent. Working with different countries is a step towards harmony and
eventually in the future will lead to world peace.
